The Massachusetts Municipal Insurance Program consists of the following benefits:
- Universal Life Insurance and Living Benefits
- Benefit eligible employees may apply for voluntary universal life insurance for permanent protection. This insurance is issued on a modified guaranteed issue basis and will never require a medical exam. The plan provides cash value accumulation, is fully portable and can be maintained for life. Premium rates are based on age and desired amount of coverage. Coverage on spouse and children are also available. Included with this life insurance plan are Long Term Care/Home Health Care features.
Term Life Insurance
- The 10 or 15 year Term Alternative Life Insurance Plan offers an easy and affordable way to safeguard your future and provide benefits when you need them most. In addition to providing death benefits to your family, this plan contains important add-on and conversion features that enable you to adjust future coverage to meet long-range financial goals.
Critical Illness Insurance
- Benefit eligible employees may apply for Critical Illness coverage. This policy provides cash benefit upon the first diagnosis of a covered critical illness or conditions as defined in the policy. These include, but are not limited to Heart Attack, Stroke, ALS, Invasive Cancer and Kidney Failure.
Short Term Disability Insurance (non-occupational)
- Disability income insurance protects your earning power by providing monthly income when you need it most. This disability plan provides 60% income replacement for a covered illness or injury. Premium rates are based on age and the amount of coverage you are eligible to receive.
Long Term Disability Insurance
- This plan features affordable protection for covered sickness and injuries both on and off the job that result in total disability. The elimination period is the greater of 360 days, or when the Short Term Disability plan expires.
